Project details

Heartbeat @ Bedok is an integrated community centre – a new building typology conceived by the Government of Singapore. The integrated community centre provides a vast array of amenities such as medical, educational, sport, retail and congregational to cater to a district level population. The project had 4 key stakeholders namely – National Library Board, People’s Association, Ministry of Health and Sport SG.

We designed the interiors for the entire project comprising of Retail, Library, Polyclinic (mini hospital), Community and Sport facilities.  The community facilities consist of cooking schools, karaoke, meeting rooms, banquet/ wedding halls, dance and music studios. The Sports facilities consist of Swimming, Gym, Tennis. Silat, Basketball, Badminton, Multi Use Arena, Silat, MMA and a suite of racquet and ball sports. All these amenities are incorporated in a 43,560 sqm building enveloped with a series of vertical, horizontal and pocket gardens.

The building and interiors have been designed to achieve the Green Mark Platinum rating. It also received the SG Mark, Singapore Good Design award winner.
